Designed for ages 7-9yrs*, players are introduced to (and all given an equal opportunity to play) a modified game of cricket each week.
The emphasis is on fun, participation and developing the correct technique.
Focus on;
- Bowling technique
- Batting technique
- Catching
- Throwing
- Backing-up in the field.
- Calling when running between the wickets (YES/NO/WAIT)
Parent involvement welcomed.
Each team is managed by a parent/whanau volunteer.
All equipment is provided.
Dress for an outdoor sporting activity – t-shirt, shorts, trainers.
Subject to funding/sponsorship - Taupo Cricket provides playing tops and hats for this grade as part of the season fee.
Games are not scored, however children stay with their team each week and play according to their team draw.
